It is also suitable for Au Pairs, Babysitters, Parents and anybody who cares for children and needs a basic course. Delivered by paediatric specialists it includes both theory and practical sessions. This one day (6 hour) course is delivered at your venue and can be run at the weekend by arrangement. The OCR required syllabus covers such topics as: - First Aid Priorities - Dealing with an Emergency - Choking – Child and Baby - Resuscitation (CPR) – Child and Baby - Anaphylaxis - Bleeding and Shock - Burns & Scalds - Eye & Ear injuries - Fractures - Childhood illnesses including Meningitis and Febrile Convulsions Certification is dependent on successful continuous assessment, there is no final examination.
